The Artist & History
Our Story
JMG Couture & Design was born from a God‑ordained nudge—an invitation for artist Joanne Garlington to return to the creative gifts that shaped her life. Introduced to crochet and knitting by her maternal grandmother at a young age, Joanne’s love for handcrafted textiles became the foundation of a lifelong artistic journey. Her passion expanded into visual arts, leading her to graduate from the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C., and later study Graphic Design in Maryland. She went on to spend two decades as a corporate Graphic Artist, refining her eye for detail, composition, and luxury aesthetics.
After years of professional success and a move to Atlanta, Georgia, Joanne retired in 2025. In 2026, she embraced a divine call to return to the artistry that had always been her true north. JMG Couture & Design is the expression of that calling—an elegant fusion of craftsmanship, creativity, and purpose.
Our Craft
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by the artist herself using premium yarns, cording, and fine textiles. Our collection includes signature purses, phone bags, and bespoke accessories, each designed with intention and created to bring beauty, originality, and refinement into everyday life. Every item is unique, and new designs are added as they are completed.
